A little about me

I teach both field workshops, small strobe lighting classes and computer classes. Below are my current Winter and Spring workshops. I am continuously adding new ones, so bookmark this page.

Lighting: Inside & Out
Small Flash Lighting in a Big Way
San Francisco - Saturdays • 10:30am - 4:30pm •
Dates: Feb. 13, March 13, April 10, May 8 • $80

Are you a dedicated reader of David Hobby's Strobist Blog? Have you devoured Joe McNally's latest book? Looking for some local people to practice and learn off-camera flash lighting with? Then this workshop is for you!

We begin in the studio. After introductions we cover the basics of using small strobes off-camera and demonstrate how to work with one light, multiple lights and different light modifiers and light shaping tools.

Then the real fun starts. We break up into smaller groups of 3-5 students and it's your turn to shoot and practice with real models. So bring your big ideas! The studio is adjacent to a great park, so we can also shoot outside where you will learn how to balance existing daylight with your small strobe lights.

Sign up is limited to 12 students to ensure lots of shooting time. Suitable for total beginners as well as advanced strobists. Check meetup website for photo albums of student images.
